Is freezing fresh fish a waste?

Is freezing fresh fish a waste?

Contrary to popular belief, freezing fish doesn't compromise quality—it preserves freshness, locking in all the nutrients and flavours too! Our fish comes straight from fishermen to your door—no middleman involved—ensuring you receive the freshest catch possible to enjoy within 3 days or freeze for later.

Freezing properly (i.e., when your fish is delivered) maintains your catch's deliciousness and nutritional value. Plus freezing helps you prevent food waste and allows for bulk buying, thereby minimising the environmental impact, such as greenhouse gas emissions from food waste in landfills.

When it comes to live seafood such as lobsters and crabs, we also recommend freezing them when delivered. Live lobsters and crabs should always be popped in the freezer for 1-2hrs to stun them before cooking. Clams, cockles and mussels can be all stored in the fridge for two days from delivery (just place them into a large bowl and cover with a wet cloth before popping them in the fridge). You can also freeze them to cook at a later date.
