Crab Avocado & Mint Crostini

A delightful aromatic canapé or starter best served with a crisp white wine or cool beer.

You can also serve it with a side salad and on thicker bread slices for a fragrant open sandwich for lunch.


  • 100g white crab meat
  • 1 ciabatta bread, cut in slices
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Mint leaves, half thinly chopped and half left to garnish
  • 1 avocado, cut in slices
  • 1 lime, cut in wedges for garnish
  • Tabasco, optional


  1. Heat your toaster or oven to 200C, then toast the bread slices until crispy
  2. Simply toss our delicate sweet white crab with extra virgin olive oil, dijon, lime juice and chopped fresh mint, then spoon on the toasted slices of bread, before topping with a slice of avocado and if desired extra mint leaves
  3. Plate on a large tray and garnish with lime wedges and mint leaves, before serving with tabasco on the side for those who like an extra kick
  4. Enjoy!
