Pan-sear, bake, or even air-fry—however you cook your salmon fillets, get ready for a speedy explosion of flavours with this banging citrusy and tangy mustard sauce. It's a flavour combo match-made top salmon fillets or a whole 1-1.5kg whole salmon side roasted in the oven.
Ingredients for 2:
- 2 x 150-200 grams salmon fillets
- Olive oil
- 1/2 lemon cut in wedges for garnish
For the sauce:
- 1 tsp whole grain dijon mustard
- 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- Pinch of paprika
- Salt & black Pepper to taste
Method:
1. For the sauce: mix all ingredients in a small bowl, taste and adjust seasoning with salt & black pepper.
2. If using an air-fryer: slightly grease the basket with a little bit of olive oil, then place the salmon fillets on its surface next to each other and cover them evenly with the sauce, making sure it also spreads of their sides. Air-fry at 200°C for 10 minutes or until cooked through and slightly crispy.
If using an oven: line some parchment paper on a baking tray, line your salmon fillets and cover with the sauce, making sure it spreads on their sides. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 220°C for 15 minutes.
3. Plate fillets immediately and cover them with extra sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve with lemon wedges as garnish and boiled new potatoes and spinach or a fresh green salad leaf.
4. Enjoy!
